My favorite things to paint are vulnerable moments from life that highlight the mystery of our human personhood through universally shared experiences of pride, shame, curiosity, disappointment, apprehension and longing. I aspire to a mature and innocent vision of everyday reality that would comfort the modern person with the knowledge that he is not alone, and provoke him to mercy because his neighbor is just as vulnerable as he is.
